Carolyn Hall is the Director of Outsourced Accounting for our firm, but she doesn’t just use her financial talents for us, she also uses them for her family’s church, St. Matthew the Apostle in Randolph, NJ. Church has always been an important part of Carolyn’s life where she taught religious education for 10 years, but still wanted to do more. With this, she accepted a position on the Finance Committee where her duties include monitoring the financial status of the church, assisting with spending decisions, loan payments, and budgeting for regular spending and capital improvements. In addition, Carolyn coordinated multiple fundraisers like sweat shirt sales and bake sales to raise funds for the teen summer mission trip to Appalachia, assisted an elderly couple weekly with their financials and recently held position as record keeper for the church’s largest fundraiser, the car raffle. Carolyn has also volunteered in a number of small community involvement projects through the church, including helping out in Soup Kitchens and and preparing meals for the homeless.
For the past 3 years, Carolyn has been the Randolph High School cheerleading booster club President. In this role, Carolyn serves as an Advocate for the cheerleaders in multiple ways to help run the program. But most importantly, Carolyn has shown the cheerleaders how to give back to their community.
A few years ago, after a middle school girl named Rebecca was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin lymphoma, Carolyn and the coach coordinated a fundraising event called, “Rally for Rebecca,” during one of the Varsity football games. The cheerleaders wore green t-shirts and green ribbons in their hair, also giving one of each to Rebecca. In addition, they even got the crowd of students and fans to wear green to the game. Green rubber bracelets were sold and all of the funds raised were given to Rebecca’s family to help with medical costs. The team has also participated in events for breast cancer awareness and ran a similar fundraiser this past year for a cheerleader’s brother who was diagnosed with a rare kidney disease.
Furthermore, Carolyn is starting to get involved with the Family Promise of Morris County. The organization is dedicated to ending homelessness faced by Morris County families. They have various centers available for those homeless families to address basic safety needs during the day. The group also works with multiple churches to help provide a place for families to stay until they get back on their feet. Carolyn is excited to become more involved with this organization.
Carolyn has repeatedly put others’ needs before her own and has been a great role model for not only the Randolph High School Cheerleaders but her colleagues as well. We hope that her role in volunteering for her community has and will inspire others to be more involved.
