NJSCPA is highlighted in Day 12 of the #12DaysofGiving Celebration. Wiss is proud to highlight this organization that assists the needs of Garden State CPAs and striving CPAs. The NJSCPA strengthens its members through a variety of education, networking, leadership and volunteer opportunities.

NJSCPA the largest professional organization, made up of 15,000 members. They organize the Young CPAs kickball tournament annually to collect donations to benefit The Valerie Fund. The Valerie Fund’s mission is to provide support for the comprehensive health care of children with cancer and blood disorders.

Families turn to The Valerie Fund because of the unique combination of medical care, counseling, and other services it provides. The Valerie Fund Children’s Centers comprise the largest network of healthcare facilities for children with cancer and blood disorders in New Jersey, and one of the largest in the nation. We host over 25,000 patient visits each year.

Close to Home: Today there are seven Valerie Fund Children’s Centers for Cancer and Blood Disorders located in major hospitals in New Jersey, New York, and the Philadelphia area providing caring, comprehensive, state-of-the-art outpatient health care to more than 4,000 children and their families each year. This network means that sick children are able to receive care close to their homes. Before The Valerie Fund, many children—such as Valerie Goldstein—had to travel long distances because the treatment they needed was available only at major medical facilities located in large cities.

Wiss participates in the annual Kickball Tournament and they have a wonderful time doing so, networking with other CPAs, having fun and raising money for a great cause. Audit Staff, Mike Suserman said, “Participating in the YCPA Kickball tournament and playing kickball with coworkers outside of work is a great experience. Building team camaraderie through a sport helps to improve teamwork and communication.  We work as a team to get a job done or to give ourselves the best chance to win a game by trusting each other and having each other’s backs at all times.”
