Pelagia Minsavage

Manager, People Operations

Pelagia Minsavage is a People Operations Manager who works with learning and development.  In her role, she works with Wiss employees to develop training strategies including interactive elements and learning retention. Pelagia uses her 8 years of high school teaching experience to assess learning needs throughout the firm, including but not limited to, CPE compliance, CMA/ CPA exams, internal trainings and educational department structures.

Wiss acknowledges that people learn every day whether it be in a training or 1-1 mentoring which correlates with Pelagia’s teaching philosophy. “A student (of any age) should not feel as though learning is a hardship. It is the challenge and responsibility of a great teacher to make learning fun and exciting, which is undeniably hard work. The hard work for the teacher pays off when they see the “lightbulb” moment for the student… and then… the teacher should think of something new and more creative for the next time.”

Beyond Wiss

In her free time, Pelagia is an avid reader who gets lost in the twists and turns of a good book, but she is also known to “binge” a Netflix series in a short period of time. Pelagia enjoys spending time with amazing people while playing cut-throat badminton games, laying in the sun, or taking a road trip to a new place.

Fun Facts

Which book, movie or podcast left a lasting impression on you? Why?

The game of baseball was a staple in my household growing up, so it was only fitting that the movie “Field of dreams” was always on the TV. As I have gotten older (and still find myself watching the movie) the messaging has become a constant reminder of what to strive for. Don’t be afraid to pursue your passion, rise above challenges, and be inspired by “a feeling”.  Amazing things happen when you don’t give up, even if the journey isn’t what you first expected.
