Jason Rosenberg is a Partner and practice leader of State and Local Tax (SALT) at Wiss. With over 15 years of experience, Jason advises clients on business income tax, gross receipts tax, sales and use tax, payroll tax, residency, and other state and local tax matters.
Jason focuses his SALT practice in advising businesses and individuals on Income/Franchise taxes. These services include nexus studies, compliance review, transaction planning, restructuring analysis, due diligence support, site selection assessment, and remote workforce analysis. In addition, Jason has extensive controversy experience, successfully representing countless clients before state and local tax authorities. This includes assisting clients with audit defense, delinquency settlements, ruling requests, and negotiated voluntary disclosure agreements.
In addition, Jason performs SALT diagnostic assessments designed to implement optimization strategies, identify refund claims, while providing risk assessment and exposure mitigation techniques. Many of these reviews have resulted in obtaining significant cash refunds, while reducing a client’s future overall state tax expense.
Prior to joining the firm, Jason was with prominent accounting firms, including the Big 4, where Jason advised Fortune 1000 business clients on state and local tax issues. Outside of Wiss, Jason serves as the Chair of NJ Society of CPAs State Taxation Interest Group.
