Agnieszka (Agnes) Karakus is a Tax Director in Wiss’s Tax Services practice with more than 10 years of experience advising real estate owners, developers, investment partnerships, family offices, and closely held businesses on tax planning, partnership taxation, transaction structuring, and compliance.
She advises clients on complex matters involving real estate transactions, partnership allocations, Section 1031 exchanges, debt restructurings, and entity planning strategies. Agnes helps clients navigate evolving tax issues while achieving their business objectives and maintaining compliance.
Prior to joining Wiss, Agnes held leadership positions at PwC and Kushner. As Vice President of Tax at Kushner, she directed tax compliance, planning, and reporting across more than 1,000 legal entities. Her experience includes leading large-scale tax engagements, managing complex reporting requirements, and implementing tax-efficient strategies.

Outside of work, Agnes enjoys traveling, spending time with her husband, two small children and her dog, and exploring new cultures and experiences. She volunteers in her children’s schools and is involved in their extracurricular activities.
