As a Director in our CFO Advisory practice, Michael provides high-impact financial leadership to a diverse portfolio of clients. He regularly serves as interim CFO or Controller, guiding companies through critical phases of growth and transformation. His responsibilities include managing cash flow, developing forecasting and budgeting models, overseeing financial reporting, and advising on strategic decision-making. Michael partners closely with management teams to strengthen financial operations and align business strategy with long-term goals.
Prior to joining Wiss, Michael held leadership roles including CFO of a biotech startup, Director of Technical Accounting, Controller, and Audit Manager. He has had the unique honor of ringing both the opening and closing bell at Nasdaq — a testament to the trust and confidence his clients place in his leadership.
Earlier in his career, Michael spent more than a decade in audit and tax advisory, serving high-growth and middle-market companies across industries such as biotech, manufacturing, technology, and marine services. He has supported numerous IPO and go-public engagements and brings deep expertise in GAAP and SEC compliance, internal controls, financial systems, budgeting, and operational finance. As a former part-owner of a pharmaceutical manufacturer, Michael also brings an entrepreneurial perspective, blending hands-on business insight with technical accounting rigor.
