Eliezer Gross

Partner, Tax

Eliezer is a Partner at Wiss specializing in real estate taxation. He spends most of his time advising clients on how to effectively run their business in the present with an eye on the future. Eliezer takes the time to understand the business and personal objectives of each client to provide the appropriate guidance.

Eliezer also keeps current with the latest updates to the tax law. Lately, Eliezer has been busy consulting clients on the various workarounds to the SALT limitation (NJ BAIT and NY PTET) and implementing strategies for his clients to maximize their charitable giving under the OBBBA. Eliezer also advises clients on other OBBBA and TCJA provisions, such as the QBI Deduction and advising on cost segregation studies to benefit from accelerated depreciation. Eliezer also meets with clients regularly to discuss tax planning strategies, estate planning, and succession planning.

Eliezer works with a variety of clients spanning the real estate industry: family-owned businesses, fund sponsors, REITs, Tax Exempt Organizations, and Sovereign Wealth Funds. He is responsible for his clients’ tax and accounting functions, such as tax compliance, financial reporting, planning, and structuring. Eliezer also assists clients with their state, local, or international tax needs. Eliezer has represented clients before the IRS and state taxing authorities regarding audits, delinquent filings, and other tax controversy matters.

Internally, Eliezer is involved with the firm’s training and campus recruiting efforts. Before joining Wiss, Eliezer worked at EY and started his career at FTI Consulting.

Beyond Wiss

Eliezer lives in Bergen County with his wife and children. Eliezer enjoys getting together with family and friends. Eliezer is an avid reader of American History and enjoying touring state capitol buildings. For the past 10 years, Eliezer has coached his children’s little league teams. Eliezer is patiently waiting for the New York Mets to win the World Series and has been to more than half of the stadiums in Major League Baseball.

You can travel back in time. What’s a piece of advice you’d tell your younger self?

Don’t be too hard on yourself if you make a mistake. I continue to tell myself this piece of advice.
