Vanessa Munoz has over 13 years of public accounting experience. She specializes in accounting and auditing, tax, and advisory services for the not-for-profit industry. Not-for-profit clients served include social service organizations, health centers, associations, foundations, and legal services organizations.
As an Audit Manager, Vanessa’s day-to-day responsibilities include managing the audit team from the planning stages through report finalization, including the assessment of internal controls and on-the-job training of staff, as well as identifying, researching, and resolving accounting and auditing issues encountered on an engagement. She also conducts educational presentations for internal staff.
Vanessa takes pride in building strong client relationships through excellent client service and takes an active role in being a mentor for the staff associates as they navigate through their career progression.
Prior to joining Wiss, she also served a diverse group of privately-held businesses in industries such as retail supermarkets, real estate, and insurance. She assisted clients with various business needs including audit and review services, business and personal tax preparation, other miscellaneous local filings, bookkeeping services and client training.

Vanessa has been named a Recipient of NJCPA’s 2019 Women to Watch Award, which applauds the growth and success of female NJCPA members for their leadership, potential, contributions and/or commitment to fostering the success of their colleagues.
Active member of the Wiss Women’s Leadership Forum, where she promotes and encourages the advancement of women within the firm.
When not in the office, Vanessa enjoys spending time with her dog, family and friends doing outdoor activies, yoga, and being a foodie.
