What’s something intriguing that most people wouldn’t know about you?
As a kid, I was one of the last true paperboys in my hometown. I delivered the paper every morning, rain or shine, to 120 customers and had to do my own collections. With my first earnings, I bought our family’s first microwave oven.
With over 25 years of business experience, Luis has worked in a broad range of finance roles in the public and private sector. The positions covered various finance functions, including FP&A, M&A, New Product Development, Valuations, Transformation, Project Management, Change Management, Tax, Audit, Financial Statement Preparation, Training, SoX/Internal Controls, Accounting, Payroll, Procure to Pay, Order to Cash, and Investor Relations.
Early in his career, Luis worked for four years in public accounting for clients in the fashion industry, food and beverage, industrial equipment, and import/export. He then moved into various large public and corporate roles for large pharmaceutical and consumer goods companies. Throughout his career, Luis has been a transformation leader, improving the work of Finance teams and bringing out their best through the right technology and process improvements.
As a Wiss CFO Advisory Practice member, Luis will bring his expertise to help clients achieve their short and long-term goals through finance excellence.
Luis has successfully implemented large-scale ERP systems, including the improvement of related finance processes. He has led major initiatives to transform finance departments into more cost-effective and efficient teams, connecting on-shore and off-shore finance support models. He has also led other finance-related technology projects to help improve the Procure to Pay and Order to Cash areas.
When not in the office, Luis enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter, whether at home, traveling, or camping. Luis is an avid DIYer around the house and enjoys working out, swimming, bike riding, and golfing. One of Luis’ favorite activities is cooking authentic Mexican cuisine from his Mom’s recipes.
