Karin Walker, CPA
Manager
Karin is a manager in our Tax department. Prior to joining Wiss in 2020, she spent over 25 years working for a small family-owned public accounting firm where she serviced a diverse group of clients. She has extensive experience in business and individual tax return preparation, payroll and sales tax reporting, tax planning and bookkeeping. Karin has developed long-term relationships with her clients and is dedicated to providing them with excellent client service. At Wiss, Karin services clients in the real estate industry and high-net worth individuals.
Karin strives to help staff develop a solid understanding of the basics of accounting. A tax return is not just numbers on a page, the accounting records and tax documents tell a story and understanding the story first helps complete the task.

Beyond Wiss
Outside of the office, Karin likes to spend her time cheering on the endeavors of her three children, rooting for the Giants and listening to music, preferably in person if Bruce Springsteen is in town.

If you could be or do anything (money restraints aside), what would you be or do?
I’ve often said that if I didn’t have to work for a living, I would love to go back to being a part-time cashier in ShopRite, a job I held for several years in high school and college. I enjoyed interacting with the customers and found the food people purchased interesting. Since I enjoy preparing tax returns, I would also volunteer my services to seniors and others who need help.
